Job summary

Ervin Cable Construction, LLC is seeking a Fiber Splicer to fuse optical fibers and maintain our telecommunication networks across on-site environments. You will ensure reliable data transmission by joining cables and verifying connections in a growing network.

Role involves upgrading cables both aerial and underground, testing post-installation circuits, and documenting work in daily reports while following safety standards and industry guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Must pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
• 6 months of splicing experience or 1 year of experience in telecommunications

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• Other duties as assigned
