Job summary

Communications Construction Group, LLC is seeking a Fiber Splicer II to fuse optical fibers and maintain our telecommunications networks. Your splicing work keeps connections strong and data flowing across a growing network.

You will perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, test and troubleshoot circuits after installation, and document work daily. We offer weekly pay, PTO and holidays, a 401(k) with company match, and education reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
• At least two years of fiber splicing experience
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and obtain a medical card

Responsibilities

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuits post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards
• Upgrade existing fiber sheaths with new fiber sheaths
• Mid-sheath fibers for entry on loose tube or fiber sheaths
• Cut away the sheath from existing cables to reach faulty connections, and remove the sheath and insulation from newly installed cables
• Provide guidance to other splicers as needed
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
• Other duties as assigned
