Job summary

Ervin Cable Construction LLC is seeking a Fiber Splicer II to fuse optical fibers and maintain our telecommunications network. You will perform cable upgrades, test and troubleshoot circuits, and ensure splicing meets industry standards. Candidates should have at least two years’ splicing experience and valid U.S. work authorization.

Qualifications

• Two years of fiber splicing experience.
• High School Diploma, GED or relevant work experience.
• Valid State driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and obtain a medical card.
• Authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Upgrade existing fiber sheaths with new fiber sheaths.
• Mid-sheath fibers for entry on loose tube or fiber sheaths.
• Cut away sheath to reach faulty connections and prepare cables.
