Ervin Cable Construction, LLC in Bessemer, AL is seeking a Fiber Splicer II to fuse optical fibers and maintain our growing network. You will perform aerial and underground splicing, test circuits, and help keep data flowing reliably across our telecom infrastructure.

Candidates should have at least two years of fiber splicing, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass a DOT physical. We offer weekly pay, a comprehensive benefits package, and opportunities for training and career growth

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorized to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid State driver's license with an acceptable driving record (not Provisional).
• Must pass a DOT physical exam to obtain a valid medical card.
• At least two years of fiber splicing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation.
• Ensure splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Upgrade fiber sheaths and mid-sheath fibers as needed.
• Provide guidance to other splicers and complete daily maintenance checks.
• Document work in daily production reports and map updates.
