Job summary

Ervin Cable Construction, LLC is seeking a Fiber Splicer II to perform cable upgrades, splice optical fibers, and troubleshoot post-installation circuits across aerial and underground networks. You’ll ensure quality and safety while meeting customer and industry standards, with daily reports and materials tracking.

The role requires at least two years of fiber splicing experience, a valid US driver’s license, and the ability to pass a DOT physical.

Qualifications

• Two years of fiber splicing experience required.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam.
• Valid State driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot post-installation circuits.
• Ensure splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Upgrade existing fiber sheaths with new fiber sheaths.
• Mid-sheath fibers for entry on loose tube or fiber sheaths.
• Remove sheath and insulation from cables as needed.
• Provide guidance to other splicers as needed.
• Complete basic daily vehicle maintenance and document work daily.
