Job summary

Dycom Industries, Inc. seeks a Fiber Splicer to assist in fusing optical fibers for our telecom networks. You will upgrade cables, splice, test, activate, and troubleshoot post-installation circuits to ensure reliable data transmission across aerial and underground lines.

The role requires DOT medical clearance, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work at heights. Training and safety are emphasized in a supportive, field-based team environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical and obtain a medical card.
• 6 months of fiber splicing or 1 year in the telecommunications industry.
• Valid state driver's license with clean driving record.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Ability to work at heights and in varied environments.

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet standards and customer requirements.
• Safely navigate working at heights, from underground to in the air.
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
• Document work through daily production reports, maps, and material records.
• Other duties as assigned.
