Job summary

Dycom Industries, Inc. is seeking a Fiber Splicer to join our field operations. You will fuse optical fibers and support the ongoing integrity of our telecommunications networks, performing aerial and underground splicing tasks as directed by supervision.

The role requires 6 months of splicing or 1 year in telecom, the ability to pass a DOT physical, and a HS diploma or GED. You will work outside, sometimes at heights, with training and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 6 months of splicing experience or 1 year in the telecommunications industry
• Ability to pass a DOT medical exam

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
• Complete basic daily vehicle maintenance and checks
• Document work performed through daily production reports and material usage records
• Other duties as assigned
