MasTec, Inc. is seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to join our team in Jackson, MS. You will develop hands-on expertise, work safely on outdoor utility sites, and contribute to end-to-end fiber optic networks with precision and quality.

You will operate fusion splicers and OTDR equipment, perform testing, and troubleshoot issues, while collaborating with the field team on challenging splicing tasks and project deadlines.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience.
• Comfortable working on a ladder or bucket truck.
• Flexible with shifts and overtime.
• Safety is part of daily work.
• Ability to work on outdoor utility sites.

Responsibilities

• Test and troubleshoot the continuity of fiber optic networks.
• Operate testing equipment and resolve common fiber network issues.
• Prepare fiber splice enclosures (e.g., Tyco, CommScope, Corning).
• Use fusion splicer, OTDR, power meter, and related test equipment.
• Understand fiber design, read documentation, and assess light levels and dB loss.
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites.
