Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Fiber Splicer to build and maintain end-to-end fiber optic networks. You will join a safety-minded team delivering high-quality service while supporting community connectivity.

Responsibilities include testing, troubleshooting, enclosure prep, and operating fusion splicer and OTDR equipment. Field work and overtime are required in outdoor utility sites.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience.
• Comfortable working on a ladder or bucket truck.
• Willing to work varied shifts with overtime.

Responsibilities

• Testing and troubleshooting the continuity of fiber optic networks.
• Operate testing equipment and resolve common fiber network challenges.
• Prepping fiber splice enclosures (Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.).
• Use fusion splicer, OTDR, Power meter, and related testers.
• Understand fiber design, read documentation, light levels and dB loss.
• Work at outdoor utility construction sites.
