Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Fiber Splicer to build end-to-end fiber optic networks. You will test, splice, and troubleshoot in outdoor environments, with a focus on safety and quality. You’ll work with fusion splicers and OTDR equipment to ensure reliable network performance.

Responsibilities include testing, using OTDR and power meters, and preparing splice enclosures. This role supports long-term projects with varying shifts and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience.
• Safety-minded with a track record of quality work.
• Hands-on with problem-solving and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Test and troubleshoot the continuity of fiber optic networks.
• Operate testing equipment and resolve field challenges.
• Prep fiber splice enclosures (Tyco, CommScope, Corning).
• Utilize fusion splicer, OTDR, Power meter for testing.
• Work at outdoor utility construction sites.
