Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
• Valid Driver’s license required.
• 1+ years of experience in splicing, testing, installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks and/or Outside Plant fiber experience.
• Knowledge of outside plant construction techniques (aerial & underground) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Splice and test fiber optic cables on new construction and restoration projects for various cable types.
• Validate testing of network equipment to ensure adherence to requirements and specifications.
• Coordinate with Network Operations Center for acceptance and testing of installed equipment and rings.
• Operate fiber optic test equipment (OTDR, OLTS, power meters, visual fault locator).
• Perform site surveys to ensure quality installation of racks and cables and report defects.
