Job summary

Motive Energy Telecommunications is seeking a Fiber Splicer in Corona, CA to install, splice, and test fiber optic cables on underground, aerial, and building locations. You will manage splicing operations, read blueprints, and ensure high-quality connections.

The role requires at least 3 years of hands-on experience, proficiency with fusion splicing equipment, and the ability to travel. Competitive hourly compensation is offered with a direct hire arrangement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years on-the-job experience.
• Working knowledge of fusion splicing and optical testing equipment including brands listed.
• Ability to read, review, interpret and understand technical documents and blueprints.
• Ability to travel and work in varied environments.
• Safety-conscious and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Fusion splices SM ribbon and loose tube fiber optic cables and terminates connectors (ST, SC, LC).
• Lead crews occasionally and supervise other employees.
• Install and test closures on all cable types/sizes.
• Analyze and troubleshoot basic technical problems.
• Review maps, drawings, blueprints and testing documents.
• Perform daily testing and maintenance of splicing equipment.
• Perform optical continuity and conformance testing.
• Make splicing rearrangements on existing facilities in various locations.
