Job summary

Dycom Industries, Inc. is seeking a Fiber Splicer to fuse optical fibers and maintain telecom networks. You will upgrade cables, splice in aerial and underground environments, and verify post-installation functionality.

Responsibilities include testing circuits, ensuring standards, and completing daily reports while maintaining safe vehicle and height operations. A valid driver’s license and ability to pass a DOT physical are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6 months of splicing experience or related telecommunications experience.
• Valid State driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and obtain a medical card.

Responsibilities

• With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot the network’s circuit post-installation.
• Ensure all splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air.
• Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks.
• Document work performed through daily production reports, marking maps and tracking material usage.
