Job summary

Dycom Industries, Inc. is seeking a Fiber Splicer in Cedar Rapids, IA to fuse optical fibers and maintain our telecommunications network. You will perform splicing tasks both aerial and underground, ensuring high-quality, reliable service and documenting work for accurate records.

You will test circuits after installation, troubleshoot issues, and uphold safety with height work and DOT medical card requirements. Minimum 18 years old, U.S.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
• Valid State driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Must pass a DOT physical exam for a valid medical card.
• 6 months of splicing experience or 1 year in telecommunications.

Responsibilities

• Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, aerial and underground, with guidance.
• Test, activate, and troubleshoot circuits after installation.
• Ensure splicing operations meet customer and industry standards.
• Safely work at various heights, from underground to aerial.
• Complete daily vehicle maintenance and perform fluid checks.
• Document work through daily production reports and map updates.
