Job summary

E2 Optics seeks a skilled Fiber Splicer in Cedar Rapids, IA to join its field operations team. This onsite role requires reading splice records, terminating and splicing FOC cables, and supporting installation activities on diverse data-center projects.

Candidates should have 3+ years in structured cabling or fiber splicing, a high school diploma, and OSHA 30 within two weeks. Travel may be required depending on project needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• OSHA 30 within first 2 weeks of role.
• BICSI Installer 2 Fiber certification preferred; must be earned after hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety policies and client worksite rules.
• Read and interpret splice records; splice fibers per records.
• Assist project team with installation activities.
• Terminate and breakout outside fiber.
• Pull and splice OSP high-count fiber optic cables.
• Maintain job site organization and housekeeping.
• Organize materials, tools, and equipment; address hazards.
• Read floor plans and blueprints; understand cut sheets.
• Understand materials/methodologies for structured cabling installation.
• Perform fiber splicing and repairs; troubleshoot with splice records.
