MasTec, Inc. is seeking a skilled Fiber Splicer to build end‑to‑end fiber optic networks in outdoor utility environments. You will test continuity, operate advanced testing equipment, and prepare splice enclosures for multiple brand modules.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fiber splice enclosures from brands like Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.
• Utilize fusion splicer, OTDR, DWDM/CWDM, OLTS, Max Tester, and power meter.
• Apply fiber engineering knowledge of design, light levels, and dB loss.
• Work on outdoor utility construction sites.

Responsibilities

As a Fiber Splicer, you are responsible for producing end‑to‑end fiber optic networks. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you’re up for the challenge.

In Addition, You Will

• Test and troubleshoot the continuity of fiber optic networks
• Operate all testing equipment and resolve challenges common to fiber optic networks
• Prepare fiber splice enclosures such as Tyco, CommScope, Corning, etc.
• Utilize fusion splicer, OTDR (Optical Time‑Domain Reflectometer) 1310, 1550, DWDM, CWDM, 945 OLTS, Max Tester, Power meter
• Apply fiber engineering knowledge of fiber design, read documentation, understand light levels, and dB loss
• Work in outdoor utility construction sites

Qualifications

• Safety is a part of your day‑to‑day
• You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
• You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands‑on approach to your work
• You are looking for long‑term projects
• You have at least 3-5 years of fiber splicing and troubleshooting experience
• You are comfortable working on a ladder or a bucket truck
• You are flexible and enjoy a variety of shifts with overtime

Compensation

$25-$35 per hour
