Job summary

Aerotek is hiring a Fiber Splicer in Cedar Rapids, IA for a contract-to-hire role. You will perform fusion splicing on single-mode and multi-mode fiber, install and terminate cables, and manage splice records and test results on various projects.

Ideal candidates have fiber splicing experience, proficiency with OTDR/OLTS and fiber testing equipment, and the ability to read schematics and construction drawings. This onsite position offers long-term opportunities and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Inspect and maintain tools, vehicles, and testing equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and quality standards.

We’re hiring Fiber Splicers to support fiber optic installation, testing, and network deployment projects. This role is ideal for candidates with fiber splicing experience who enjoy working hands‑on with cutting‑edge telecommunications infrastructure in both indoor and outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Fiber certification and quality assurance testing
• Construction, telecommunications, or utility industry experience
• Experience maintaining as-built drawings and project documentation

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
