Job summary

Aerotek in Colorado Springs is seeking experienced Low Voltage Technicians (Level 2 & Level 3) to support commercial structured cabling projects in healthcare, education, defense, and data centers. Full-time, on-site, daytime schedule 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM with occasional evenings.

You will install, terminate, test, and organize cabling, read blueprints, and collaborate with project teams. OSHA 10 and a valid driver's license are required; leadership opportunities available.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of commercial low voltage or structured cabling experience.
  • Experience pulling, terminating, and testing network cabling.
  • Ability to read basic blueprints and project layouts.
  • Strong knowledge of CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, fiber optic, and coaxial cabling.
  • OSHA 10 certification or equivalent safety training.

Responsibilities

  • Install, terminate, and test structured cabling systems, including CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, fiber optic, and coaxial cable
  • Pull, route, label, and dress copper and fiber cabling according to industry standards
  • Terminate network jacks, patch panels, and telecommunications hardware
  • Build and organize MDF and IDF closets
  • Install server racks, cabinets, wire management systems, and network infrastructure equipment
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and project specifications to execute installations accurately
  • Assist with cable pathway installation, including ladder rack, J-hooks, conduit, and supports
  • Test and troubleshoot copper and fiber cabling systems
  • Work safely within active construction sites, hospitals, data centers, and occupied facilities
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure quality installations and project completion

Low Voltage Technician (Level 2 & Level 3)

Location: Colorado Springs, CO

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday

Shift: Primarily Days (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM)

Travel: Occasional project assignments in Castle Rock and Lone Tree

We are seeking experienced Low Voltage Technicians (Level 2 & Level 3) to support a growing portfolio of commercial structured cabling projects throughout the Colorado Springs area. This role offers the opportunity to work in a variety of environments, including healthcare facilities, defense installations, educational institutions, and data centers.

What You’ll Do

Qualifications
Level 2 Technician
  • Minimum 1 year of commercial low voltage or structured cabling experience
  • Experience pulling, terminating, and testing network cabling
  • Ability to read basic blueprints and project layouts
Level 3 Technician
  • 2-4 years of commercial low voltage or structured cabling experience
  • Strong experience with copper and fiber installations
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned project areas
  • Experience coordinating tasks and assisting junior technicians
Required for All Candidates
  • Experience with CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, fiber optic, and coaxial cabling
  • Knowledge of telecom and network infrastructure installations
  • OSHA 10 certification or equivalent safety training
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ownership of hand tools required for structured cabling work
  • Ability to work from ladders and lifts as needed
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience building MDF/IDF rooms and network closets
  • Data center installation experience
  • Experience installing server racks and cabinets
  • Fiber optic termination and testing experience
  • Healthcare, education, or government facility project experience
  • Leadership or crew lead experience
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work on active construction sites and commercial projects
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at varying heights
  • Ability to lift and carry materials, tools, and equipment throughout the workday
  • Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to wear required PPE and follow site-specific safety requirements

Work Environment

Most work is performed on commercial project sites throughout Colorado Springs. Typical projects include hospitals, educational campuses, data centers, and defense-related facilities. Approximately 90% of work is completed on a daytime schedule from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM , with occasional evening work required for select hospital projects.

Technicians work on crews ranging from 2 to 20 team members depending on project scope. This position requires working in both active construction environments and occupied facilities while maintaining professional installation standards and safety practices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 – $27.00/hr.
