Job summary

Forged Fiber is seeking a skilled Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables across construction, maintenance, and restoration projects. You will work with a range of tools to ensure route integrity, document test results, and coordinate with crews on outage resolution.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of fiber splicing/OSP experience, strong reading of construction docs, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of fiber splicing/OSP experience or equivalent training.
• Strong reading and interpretation of construction prints and diagrams.
• Proficiency with fusion splicer, OTDR, optical power meter, fiber identifiers, and inspection scope.
• Able to work outdoors in varying conditions and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test and troubleshoot fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Troubleshoot fiber faults using OTDR and power meters; document results.
• Prepare, install, audit and repair splice cases/enclosures (aerial, buried, handholes, manholes).
• Perform dark fiber, reel, and continuity testing; complete routine repairs to restore service.
• Coordinate with crews and document field splicing reports; read and interpret project documents.
