Job summary

Forged Fiber is hiring a Fiber Tech II - Splicing Technician to install, splice, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic cables across our network infrastructure. The role supports construction, operations, maintenance, and emergency restoration, with a strong emphasis on safety and quality.

The candidate will read construction prints, coordinate with teams, and perform field splicing across aerial and underground environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of fiber splicing/OSP or related experience.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record.
• Able to read and interpret construction prints, splice diagrams, maps and schematics.
• Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and varied terrain.

Responsibilities

• Install, splice, test fiber optic cable for construction projects.
• Troubleshoot fiber faults using OTDR and power meters; document results.
• Prepare, install, audit, and repair splice cases across aerial and underground networks.
• Perform testing and keep records of splices and routes to ensure reliability.
• Coordinate with crews and partners to resolve outages and meet schedules.
• Follow safety and quality guidelines including applicable OSHA/NESC requirements.
• Learn and perform OLT work, including testing and turnup as needed.
