Job summary

Plenary Americas is seeking a Sales Engineer for dark fiber and lit services. You’ll design solutions, architect routes, and present value to customers while collaborating with Sales, Engineering, Ops, and Finance. Travel up to 30% along the U.S.

East Coast is required. This customer-facing role requires strong pre-sales, design, and communication skills, plus a background in long-haul fiber, IRUs, and DWDM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, MIS, Business, or equivalent industry experience.
• 5+ years in pre-sales, technical sales engineering, or network design in telecom.
• Expertise in long-haul/dark fiber, IRUs, and DWDM.
• Familiar with OSP design, permitting, and route feasibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-sales technical consultation throughout the sales cycle.
• Engage with customers’ technical stakeholders to drive deals.
• Write proposals and respond to RFIs/RFPs.
• Present dark fiber solutions to technical and business audiences.
• Translate requirements into route designs and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, and Operations during design.
