Job summary

Corning Inc. in the United States is seeking a Test and Qualification Technician I to support verification, qualification, and reliability testing of optical telecommunications products in a laboratory environment.

You will operate test systems, collect data, and assist engineers to ensure fiber optic products meet performance and quality requirements. The role is full-time in a lab setting with career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience with optical test and measurement equipment.
• Hands-on experience with optical fiber fusion splicing.
• Experience with quality control testing.
• Experience with data analysis.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Set up and verify fiber optic test systems; configure samples for environmental and mechanical testing.
• Perform optical measurements with manual and automated test systems; operate environmental chambers and test equipment.
• Document test results, draft test reports, and track testing progress per procedures.
• Conduct basic data analysis and assist in failure mode analysis.
• Assist with equipment calibration and construction of jigs under direction of lab engineers.
