Job summary

Gateway Fiber is seeking a Fiber Optic Installation Technician to install, terminate, and document our fiber network for residences and businesses. Expect a fast-paced environment with emphasis on quality, safety, and customer service; candidates should be able to lift 40–60 pounds and travel as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with vocational training preferred, and a valid Class E driver's license. Competitive pay with benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Vocational training or apprenticeship is preferred.
• Valid Class E Driver’s License is required.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods and lift 40–60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Terminating fiber optic cables
• Augmenting existing network installations
• Installing fiber optic connections to homes, businesses and enterprise buildings
• Network documentation
• Audit and inspection of newly completed network construction
• Repair of damaged infrastructure
• Deployment of additional network cabinet / node sites
• Provide an exceptional Gateway Fiber experience to customers
• Coordinate with dispatch to resolve issues and ensure repairs
