Job summary

Corning Incorporated is seeking a Senior Carrier Networks Systems Engineer to join our Optical Communications team in Charlotte, NC. You will design fiber optic networks for large telecom carriers, supporting pre- and post-sales engagements across FTTx architectures, including FTTH and MDUs.

You will lead PON design, BOM development, and collaborate with Sales, Marketing and Customer Care to deliver technically sound, cost-effective solutions.

Qualifications

B.S. in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering or related field.
8–10 years in telecommunications.
Proficiency with CAD/GIS and MS Office.
Strong English communication, written and verbal.
Experience with external plant fiber optic design and PON products.

Responsibilities

Lead passive optical network design and BOM development for large-scale FTTx deployments.
Collaborate with sales/marketing/customer care to support engagements.
Develop optimized network designs using Corning products and cost modeling.
Lead design teams from scoping through delivery.
Produce design docs and customer deliverables translating engineering to commercial solutions.
