Job summary

The role emphasizes design and optimization of cable development processes, collaboration with suppliers, and travel up to 25% including international assignments. A mechanical or materials background is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Engineering is required.
• Applied mechanical aptitude with ability to work independently on projects.
• Experience with DOE, FMEA, and/or MEE methodologies.
• Experience collecting, analyzing, and presenting technical data.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, including international.
• The role requires ability to work cross-functionally with teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead or contribute to regional and global cross-functional project teams for fiber optic cable products and processes from concept to manufacturing transfer.
• Design, develop, and optimize equipment and processes for cable development; explore new processing techniques for innovative designs.
• Conduct experiments, analyze data, and test hypotheses to deliver solutions for new development efforts.
• Interface with suppliers and procurement to evaluate materials and support customer needs.
• Perform risk assessments and document findings in technical reports and presentations.
