Job summary

Uniti is seeking a Network Technician to perform installation, maintenance, and repair of voice, data, transport, and video equipment across the United States. You will conduct post-install tests, coordinate network equipment, and perform OTDR testing to ensure service quality.

Role includes standing and climbing duties, driving company vehicles, and possible on-call coverage. A technical degree or related experience is required, with safety training and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in a technical discipline and 2-3 years technical/telephony experience, or 4+ years related telephony experience.
• Ability to understand CLR/DLR and Engineering job packs.
• Ability to perform OTDR tests and understand results.
• Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and work aloft.
• Knowledge of DS1/DS3, Analog Transport, SONET OC3/12/48, WDM/CWDM/DWDM, EWSD, and fiber training.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine installation, maintenance, and repair of network systems including voice, data, transport, and video equipment.
• Complete post-install tests for call processing functionality and AMA testing.
• Coordinate central office/network equipment, card insertions, fiber cross-connects and inside wiring.
• Perform OTDR tests and interpret results.
• Conduct fixed wireless installation and maintenance.
• Maintain safety and operate company vehicle in a safe, organized manner.
• Provide on-call coverage and respond to after-hours calls.
• Maintain central office and remotes with routine preventative maintenance.
