Job summary

Brightspeed is seeking an experienced Network Technician to work in Central Offices and in the field. You will manage switching equipment, generators, and various fiber/copper networks, with overtime and weekend duties as outages occur.

You will operate across inside and outside plant cabling, monitor alarms, and support transport and power systems, adapting to a hybrid work model across locations in the Charlotte area and beyond.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years experience as a switch technician.
• Familiarity with inside and outside plant cabling practices.
• Self-motivated and able to drive issues to resolution.
• Ability to promote and sell Brightspeed services.
• Knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
• Ability to work well with customers and peers.
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work all shifts including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supporting and maintaining all switching equipment in Central Offices and in the field.
• Keeping backup generators in optimum condition.
• Installing, supporting, and maintaining special circuits and working within the TIRKS system.
• Monitoring and supporting switch alarm activity.
• Installing, supporting, and maintaining fiber and copper networks.
• Supporting and maintaining transport networks and central office power.
