Job summary

Brightspeed in Charlotte, NC seeks a Fiber Service Technician-Mobile to install fiber-based high-speed internet for residential customers and support field operations. You will travel domestically as needed, work varying shifts, and maintain safety while wiring, testing and verifying connections.

You will climb poles, dig and bury cable, coordinate with sales teams, and contribute to a best-in-class customer experience.

Qualifications

• Ability to travel
• High School diploma or equivalent experience
• Ability to distinguish colors on facilities
• Ability to handle 28 foot extension ladders and utility access hole covers
• Ability to complete service tech boot camp training
• Basic computer skills including MS Office applications
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to work aloft (ladder)
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and at various hours
• A valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
• Positive and professional appearance and demeanor when communicating the company’s products and services to customers

Responsibilities

• Installing fiber-based high-speed internet for consumer customers
• Performing maintenance and repair on outside plant facilities
• Climbing poles and digging/burying cable
• Managing travel per diem for work
• Observing safety rules and regulations
• Assisting other technical personnel as needed
• Supporting sales and marketing activities
• Directing customer-facing work and sales referrals
