Job summary

Brightspeed is seeking a Customer Service Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot high-speed internet, video, and voice services, including wiring and equipment, across assigned service areas.

You may work varying shifts, including overtime, weekends, and holidays. The role involves climbing poles, digging trenches, and safely handling outside plant facilities while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Qualifications

• High School diploma (or equivalent) or higher
• Ability to distinguish colors on facilities
• Ability to handle 28 foot extension ladders and utility access hole covers
• Boot camp training including POTS/DSL installation/repair and basic transmissions
• Basic computer skills including MS Office applications
• Ability to work in confined spaces and aloft
• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and at various hours
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record
• Professional appearance and demeanor when representing the company
• Accountability and teamwork to meet service measures
• Active listening to take input and improve skills
• Ability to ask relevant questions to resolve issues
• Active learning to improve skills

Responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-speed internet, video, and voice networks and equipment
• Performing maintenance and repair on outside plant facilities
• Climbing poles and digging to bury cables; working in utility access holes
• Observing safety rules and regulations
• Assisting other technicians as needed
• Supporting sales and marketing activities
• Directing customer-facing work and sales referrals
