Job summary

Verizon is seeking an Outside Plant Engineer to supervise OSP/ISP construction and maintenance for fiber expansion and upgrades. You’ll manage multi-stakeholder projects, drive on-time delivery within budget, and lead engineering and construction activities for expanding the OSP network infrastructure.

You’ll collaborate with internal and external partners, lead colleagues, and communicate complex technical issues clearly in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or two or more years of work experience.
• Three or more years of relevant experience required.
• Willingness to travel up to approximately 25% of the time.
• Valid Driver's license.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical/science/mathematics fields (preferred).
• Experience in CAD, 3GIS, ARCGIS, Google Earth or other mapping/drafting software (preferred).
• Experience in Google Workspace tools (Drive, Gmail, Meet, Docs, Sheets, Slides).
• Experience in data/reporting platforms (Tableau, Cheetah or similar).

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering efforts on multiple projects and manage vendor resources.
• Coordinate activities with contractors, developers, municipalities and consultants.
• Prepare cost analyses, project specifications, spend forecasts, route mapping and business justifications.
• Manage field meetings, construction inspections and quality control of final product.
• Communicate project status to team members and customers.
• Respond to network outages and coordinate resources for restoral.
