Job summary

Swoon is seeking a Director of FTTH/OSP Installation & Maintenance to lead fiber installation, maintenance, field operations, and network restoration across Orange County. This role oversees field teams, supervisors, contractors, and vendors while ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in fiber optics, OSP construction, telecommunications, or infrastructure maintenance.
• 5+ years of leadership in field operations, teams, contractors, or large-scale deployments.
• Strong knowledge of FTTH/FTTX, OSP construction, fiber splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and restoration.
• Experience with permitting, ROW, utility coordination, and contractor management.
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, and cross-functional projects.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, safety, and quality standards.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience with GIS, OTDR, fiber characterization, and network documentation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead FTTH/OSP fiber installation, maintenance, splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and restoration.
• Manage field teams, supervisors, contractors, and vendors.
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, staffing, and performance.
• Coordinate with engineering, construction, and operations teams.
• Ensure OSHA, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage emergency response and fiber outage restoration.
• Drive process improvements, cost efficiencies, and productivity.
• Monitor network performance, outages, rework, and quality metrics.
• Support growth and scalable processes across markets.
