Job summary

City of Pharr invites a Full-Time Broadband Laborer to join our team, supporting underground fiber placement and conduit work. You will load materials, operate trenchers and mini excavators, and help restore sites while ensuring safety and quality.

You will work onsite with a dedicated Fiber Manager, close work orders, upload photos, and assist with running fiber/cabling as needed to expand community connectivity. Background check required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fiber optic extension, repair and maintenance methods.
• Familiarity with safety hazards and precautions in field work.
• Ability to make sound judgments and resolve problems.
• Strong written and oral communication with city departments and customers.

Responsibilities

• Load and deliver materials and operate hand tools and equipment.
• Run fiber and network cables as needed; assist team with manual labor and site restoration.
• Close work orders and upload photos as directed by the Fiber Manager.
