The City of Pharr, TX is seeking a Full-Time Broadband Laborer to help install and maintain fiber optic networks. The role is onsite and involves loading materials, operating trenching equipment, and assisting with cable placement to improve community connectivity.

You will work with the Fiber Manager on site, perform administrative duties, and contribute to high-quality workmanship. A strong customer-service mindset and safety awareness are essential for this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Understanding of methods and equipment used in fiber optic networks and conduit systems.
• Familiarity with safety hazards and necessary precautions.
• Ability to exercise sound judgement to resolve problems.
• Effective oral and written communication with city departments, outside organizations, customers, or citizens.
• Ability to operate necessary equipment and work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Load and deliver materials and operate various hand tools and equipment.
• Assist teammates with manual labor tasks and site restoration.
• Close work orders and upload photos as directed by the Fiber Manager.
• Run fiber and network cables as needed to support connectivity.
