Job summary

Bigham Cable Construction is seeking a hands-on Fiber Installation Technician to set up and support fiber optic networks in outdoor field environments.

This role requires comfort with varying weather, physical activity, and driving to job sites. You will install, test, troubleshoot, and configure equipment, while prioritizing safety and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid State driver’s license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Install, disconnect, reconnect, add, change, and troubleshoot fiber optic internet, and telephone based on guidelines
• Install, setup and configure all equipment
• Identify and try to remedy sources of customer-perceived issues
• Review all requested services with the customer in order to ensure understanding and agreement
• Educate the customer regarding product and service usage
• Clean, maintain, and stock vehicle and equipment
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on‑call/afterhours responsibilities as needed
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

Must be comfortable performing hands‑on, physically demanding work in an outdoor field environment. What You’ll Need

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work at heights, occasional entry into attics and crawl spaces and alone in remote locations, operate vehicle and heavy machinery; squeeze, fine hand motion, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift up to 55 pounds without assistance.
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
