Job summary

IQ Fiber is seeking a Fiber Installation Technician to handle installation, Wi‑Fi router configuration, testing, and customer acceptance of our FTTH service. This role also responds to service calls, changes, and disconnects in home or business settings.

The successful candidate will work directly with customers, must have fiber install experience, GPON knowledge, and be able to troubleshoot connectivity while maintaining safety and professionalism on every job.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of fiber optics installation and 2+ years broadband installation experience; GPON knowledge required.
• Must have a valid driver's license, auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
• Ability to set up Wi‑Fi networks and diagnose connectivity issues.
• Ability to document actions and resolutions across company systems and platforms.
• Able to meet performance metrics (install completion, CSAT, MTTR).
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and climb ladders up to 30 feet.
• Willingness to work overtime and respond to after-hours calls.

Responsibilities

• Perform requested fiber internet installations and resolve service tickets per codes and safety standards.
• Set up initial Wi‑Fi networks and diagnose hardware/software issues affecting connectivity.
• Perform basic fiber splicing with knowledge of GPON terminals and equipment.
• Use company systems to document actions, readings, and resolutions for each job.
• Aim to meet or exceed installation, quality, CSAT, MTTR metrics.
• Communicate professionally with customers and coordinate with dispatch and internal teams.
• Be on time in professional attire with safety gear and installation materials.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment per safety and brand standards.
• All other duties as assigned.
