Job summary

FOCUS Broadband is seeking a Construction Technician to install, maintain, and support broadband infrastructure in North Carolina. You will read maps and plans, operate trenching and aerial equipment, and perform routine maintenance while adhering to safety regulations.

The role requires a CDL within 12 months, strong teamwork, and the ability to travel across the service area. FOCUS Broadband offers competitive benefits and a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with heavy equipment operation required.
• 10-hour OSHA (Construction), Flagger, and Work Zone Supervisor certifications or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interpret staking sheets and installation specifications for underground and aerial plant construction.
• Operate trenchers, backhoes, directional borers and other equipment to bury plant and service drops.
• Perform underground installation and repair of plant infrastructure; assist with aerial work as assigned.
• Maintain powered equipment and schedule routine and emergency maintenance.
• Complete required job documentation and reports and operate company vehicles.
