Job summary

4-County Electric Power Association is seeking a Field Technician in Mississippi to perform fiber-optic splicing and aerial/underground cable installation. You will troubleshoot outages, restore service, and monitor outside plant and network equipment to maintain service quality.

The role requires coordinating with Customer Service and maintaining accurate as-built records while ensuring safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Fiber-optic splicing and related field activities experience preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and restore service outages.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and first aid.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber-optic splicing and aerial/underground cable placement.
• Work with Customer Service Representatives to maintain an aggressive installation schedule.
• Respond to service requests in a courteous manner.
• Monitor, maintain, and restore health of outside plant and network access equipment.
• Install and configure outside plant and network access equipment; report status to the supervisor.
• Maintain accurate as-built records for the fiber plant management system.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints, ensuring prompt, courteous responses.
• Operate all types of vehicles and related equipment; 24-hour call-out.
• Observe safety rules and regulations; supervise others in safety training.
