Job summary

Race Communications in Phelan, CA is seeking a Drop Technician 2 to install, maintain, and repair last-mile fiber infrastructure. You will install and terminate fiber on customer premises, handle aerial and underground drops, and work at our field site while traveling to Race offices as required.

Qualifications

• Eligible for US Employment without sponsorship
• Minimum age 18
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• California driver license required
• 6 months Drop Technician or outside plant/fiber optics experience
• Ability to read fiber network maps and MOPs
• Experience with GO95 codes a plus
• English communication required; Spanish desirable

Responsibilities

• Install and terminate fiber drop cable on customer premises
• Perform fiber drop installations and replacements
• Maintain exterior DMARC Clam Shell installations
• Install and repair underground conduit and drop facilities
• Provide on-site customer service and support
• Operate bucket truck and related equipment safely
• Travel to various Race offices and worksites as needed
• Adhere to safety procedures and pre-job planning tools
• Maintain records of work performed and ensure quality workmanship
