Job summary

Race Communications is seeking a Field Technician 3 in Lancaster, CA to install, maintain, and troubleshoot telecom equipment and fiber networks at a designated field site, with occasional travel to other Race offices and off-site locations. The role requires basic telecom knowledge, ability to read diagnostics, and strict safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license subject to DMV verification.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 12 months of field technician experience.
• Understanding of fiber optic networks, basic telecom, and video.
• Basic knowledge of Apple iPad.
• Ability to communicate in English (speaking, reading, writing, comprehension).
• Spanish language proficiency is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Fiber Optic Cable Installation and Maintenance: installs and troubleshoots internet, telecom, and video services.
• Responds to support issues with truck rolls and on-site diagnostics.
• Resolves LAN/WAN/Internet/Telecom/Video problems.
• Infrastructure Operations: low voltage wiring and remote assistance; complete work orders.
• Ticket Management and Communication: use CRM; guide customers; document work.
• Training and Mentorship: assist and mentor new team members.
• Equipment Operations and Site Maintenance: operate bucket truck; climb poles; manage traffic control.
• Vehicle Maintenance and Travel: ensure vehicle readiness; travel to various locations; overtime may be required.
• Safety Awareness and Compliance: follow safety practices and complete required documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.
