Job summary

Stimulus Technologies is seeking a Construction Manager to lead field construction across broadband and fiber projects, overseeing Stimulus-employed Resident Engineers and third-party contractors. You will be the owner’s representative ensuring safety, schedule, budget, and quality align with project specs.

The role requires 7+ years in OSP telecom fiber construction, 3+ years in a supervisory capacity, strong budgeting and coordination skills, and proficiency with PM tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in OSP telecom or fiber optic construction.
• Minimum 3 years in a supervisory or management role overseeing field construction teams.
• Strong understanding of OSP fiber optic construction methods including aerial, underground, and buried applications.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management or construction tracking tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all phases of OSP fiber optic construction including aerial, underground, and buried plant installation.
• Ensure construction activities comply with project plans, specifications, permits, and applicable codes and standards.
• Conduct regular site visits to verify construction quality, safety compliance, and adherence to project timelines.
• Manage contractor performance and hold construction crews accountable to contract terms and workmanship standards.
• Review and approve contractor pay applications, change orders, and project closeout documentation.
• Ensure construction contractors and sub-contractors adhere to 811 rules and regulations.
• Coordinate with the Permitting Manager to ensure all required permits and approvals are in place prior to construction.
• Identify and resolve field conflicts, constructability issues, and design discrepancies in coordination with the engineering firm.
• Monitor project budgets and forecasts; elevate cost or schedule risks to the VP of Engineering promptly.
• Ensure all as-built documentation is accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.
• Manage day-to-day relationships with construction partners, subcontractors, and material vendors; hold each accountable to contractual terms, delivery schedules, and quality expectations while serving as the field-level escalation point for vendor performance issues.
