Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Directional Drill Operator/Locator to support underground conduit and fiber installations in urban environments. You will work safely, collaborate with the team, and help expand our utility network while delivering high-quality work and staying local.

This role requires at least 2 years of urban directional drilling experience, CDL Class A, and the ability to read maps and diagrams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of utility directional drilling experience in an urban environment.
• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• Ability to read and understand maps, drawings, and diagrams for the project build.
• Experience with Vermeer or Ditch Witch drills.
• Safety-focused with a strong commitment to high-quality work.

Responsibilities

• Support directional drilling for installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable.
• Operate a horizontal directional bore in collaboration with the Drill Locator to install coax and fiber systems.
• Ensure the safety of the public and other underground utilities.
• Read utility locates and coordinate daylighting of facilities.
• Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site daily.
