Job summary

MasTec Communications Group is seeking a Directional Drill Operator/Locator to support underground conduit and fiber installation. You will operate horizontal directional bores and collaborate with the Drill Locator to lay out coax and fiber systems on urban sites.

We value safety, quality workmanship, and a hands-on approach. A valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record is required, and being home daily helps support local communities.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of utility directional drilling experience in an urban environment.
• Read and understand maps, drawings and diagrams for project build process.
• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
• Willingness to be home daily and contribute to local community.

Responsibilities

• Support directional drilling for installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable.
• Operate a horizontal directional bore in collaboration with the Drill Locator to install coax and fiber systems.
• Ensure the safety of the public and other underground utility facilities.
• Read utility locates and coordinate day lighting of facilities.
• Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site daily.
