Job summary

MasTec Communications Group seeks a Directional Drill Operator/Locator to support underground conduit and fiber optic installations. You will work with a team to operate borings, install coax and fiber systems, and ensure safety at all times.

You should have at least 2 years of urban directional drilling experience, familiarity with Vermeer or Ditch Witch drills, and a valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a DOT medical card.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of utility directional drilling experience in an urban environment.
• Experience with Vermeer or Ditch Witch drills of different sizes.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a DOT med card; CDL A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support directional drilling for underground conduit and fiber optic installation.
• Operate a horizontal directional bore with a Locator to install coax and fiber systems.
• Ensure public safety and protect other underground utilities.
• Read maps, drawings, and diagrams for project build.
• Transport heavy equipment to and from job sites daily.
