IPG Photonics Corporation in Marlborough, MA seeks an entry-level assembler to prepare fibers for medical surgical products. You will use hand tools and light power tools to process fiber, aligning parts, following work orders, and recording production data in the system.

This role operates in a manufacturing setting with PPE and safety protocols. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to read instructions and blueprints, and physical ability to lift up to 15 lbs.

Qualifications

• Education: High school or equivalent; vocational school graduate preferred.
• Experience: No experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, or schematics.
• Physical: Lift up to 15 lbs; standing, bending, reaching, and walking for extended periods.
• Core competencies: strong oral, written and interpersonal skills; team collaboration; multitasking; proactivity.

Responsibilities

• Aligns and joins parts into housing, modifies, fabricates, and builds equipment and subassemblies.
• Follows instructions on work orders; cleaves and tests fiber.
• Adds RFID tag; measures and aligns fiber for laser.
• Sends completed fiber to stock and packaging area.
• Records order in production database and retrieves fibers from stock.
• Sends fiber to sterilizer and then to QA department.
• Solves minor problems; escalates bigger issues to supervisor.
