Job summary

IPG Photonics in Marlborough, MA is hiring for an entry-level fiber preparation role. You will use hand and power tools to prepare fibers for medical laser products, aligning parts and following detailed work instructions.

No experience is required, but reading blueprints and instructions is essential. You will train on 1st shift then move to 2nd shift, and work in a manufacturing environment with safety regulations and PPE usage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational school preferred.
• No experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Aligns and joins parts into housing, fabricates and builds equipment using power and hand tools.
• Follows work order cleaves and tests fiber per instructions.
• Adds RFID tag, measures and aligns fiber for laser assembly.
• Sends completed fiber to stock location and to sterilizer as directed.
• Records order in production database and retrieves fibers for packaging.
• Problem-solve minor issues and escalate major ones to a supervisor.
