Job summary

IPG Photonics is seeking an entry-level assembler for our cleanroom production environment in New Hampshire. You will inspect, assemble, and package fiber-optic medical components such as fibers, ferrules and connectors, using precision tools and hand instruments.

Level II responsibilities include basic equipment setup, small-scale troubleshooting, and training of fellow assemblers. A high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum of 1-2 years of related assembly experience.
Proficient with basic hand tools and measurement devices.
Experience with assembly equipment used in manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

Inspect, kit, install, and assemble components of fiber-optic medical products: optical fibers, ferrules, connectors, and packaging components.
Operate manufacturing test equipment: fiber-optic strippers and cleavers, power meters, oscilloscopes, laser test stations, RFID readers, and microscopes.
Use bonding materials: epoxies, glues, etc.
Wear appropriate cleanroom attire, work in a controlled manufacturing area requiring coats, hair and beard nets, gloves, and booties.
Use generic cleaning liquids (alcohol, isopropanol alcohol, acetone, etc.).
Maintain cleanliness of work and common areas.
Cross-train in production process or area as assigned by the Supervisor.
Meet assigned production metrics as defined by the Supervisor.
Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
LEVEL II: Perform basic setup, and troubleshooting of equipment as needed.
LEVEL II: Train other assemblers as assigned.
