Job summary

IPG Photonics, based in Marlborough, MA, is seeking an entry-level assembler to prepare fibers for medical surgical products. You will use hand tools and light power tools to process fiber, align parts, and support production workflows in a manufacturing environment.

No prior experience required; a high school diploma is acceptable. You’ll read work instructions, interpret blueprints, and document production data while following safety regulations and quality standards.

• Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, data entry, production software).

Responsibilities

• Aligns and joins parts into housing, modifies, fabricates, and builds equipment and subassemblies using power tools, hand tools, and various soldering equipment.
• Follows instructions on work order cleaves and tests fiber.
• Adds RFD tag, measures and aligns fiber for laser.
• Sends completed fiber to stock location.
• Records order in production database.
• Retrieves completed fibers from stock for packaging and labeling.
• Sends completed fiber to sterilizer then on to Quality Assurance department.
• Solves minor problems and recognizes bigger problems that require supervisor assistance.
