Job summary

IPG Photonics is seeking an entry level assembler to prepare fibers for medical surgical products at our Marlborough, MA site. Assist with aligning, joining, and inspecting fiber subassemblies using hand and power tools, following work orders, and recording production data.

Physical work includes lifting up to 15 lbs, standing for extended periods, and reading blueprints or instructions. No prior experience required; on‑site manufacturing role with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent; vocational school graduate preferred.
• No experience required.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, or schematics.
• Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
• Standing, bending, reaching, and walking for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Aligns and joins parts into housing, modifies, fabricates, and builds equipment and subassemblies using power tools, hand tools, and various soldering equipment.
• Follows instructions on work order cleaves and tests fiber.
• Adds RFD tag, measures and aligns fiber for laser.
• Sends completed fiber to stock location.
• Records order in production database.
• Retrieves completed fibers from stock for packaging and labeling.
• Sends completed fiber to sterilizer then on to Quality Assurance department.
• Solves minor problems and recognizes bigger problems that require supervisor assistance.
