Wright State University in Dayton, OH seeks a Telecommunication Support Specialist I to install and maintain low-voltage cabling. Under general direction, you will use independent judgment to support wiring installations, testing, and documentation in a fast-paced IT environment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED with relevant FT experience, knowledge of NEC and BICSI standards, and a valid US driver’s license.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED with 3 years related FT experience, or 2 years post-secondary plus 1 year FT experience
• Experience with fiber optic, voice, and data cable installation, maintenance, and record keeping in a commercial environment
• Understand local and NEC code requirements for cabling infrastructure installation
• Understand BICSI installation standards and best practices
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Valid US driver’s license for at least one year and ability to operate University vehicles

Responsabilidades

• Install and terminate low-voltage cabling and ensure code compliant systems; complete job tickets for billing and inventory management
• Assist with installation of wired/wireless network hardware, access control systems, security cameras, and related IT infrastructure
• Process MAC orders and trouble tickets, test/verify, repair or replace faulty equipment, and document cable plant and network ports
• Other duties as assigned
