Job summary

CEC is seeking a Telecom Service Technician to install, terminate, test, and maintain telecom cabling and related systems across residential and commercial environments. You will handle copper and fiber optic cabling, install triple-play services, and ensure code-compliant results at various job sites.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and basic telecom knowledge. Training in NEC/NESC/OSHA safety is preferred; valid driver’s license required for field work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent training.
• Basic knowledge of telecom cabling and testing methods.
• Willingness to learn NEC, NESC, OSHA, and local codes.

Responsibilities

• Install, disconnect, and reconnect telecom services (coaxial, copper, ADSL/DSL, fiber).
• Complete triple-play installations (TV, phone, internet) and install customer premises equipment.
• Pull, terminate, splice, and test cables per specs; document results.
• Test and certify cabling and report results; identify faults and escalate as needed.
• Read and interpret drawings and diagrams for routing and termination.
• Maintain tools and equipment; work with safety protocols.
